Among Woody Allen's finest moments - the chemistry between himself and the loopy Diane Keaton has never worked better. This is rip roaringly funny - containing plenty of homage to the Marx Brothers along the way. The one liners flow thick and fast and confirm Allen's comic genius. Much less serious then his later work (and much better?), this goofy twisted take on Nicholas and Alexandra (!?) is truly hysterical. Painfully funny throughout, it's a pity it has to come to an end at all. One of the funniest films this reviewer has ever had the pleasure of watching. Brilliant - reaches and revitalizes parts other movies can't even begin to reach.
