Visually sumptuous on the road serial killer story which see's our struggling though ambitious young Yuppies pick up a trailer trash couple along the way with devastating and horrifying results.

Dominic Sena reveals his MTV upbringing with some interesting camerawork and use of light and shade. The acting is a little over the top with Brad Pitt leading the way with a thoroughly mannered and flawed performance which is nonetheless fairly engrossing. Likewise can be said for Juliette Lewis who is her retarded, drooling demented self, again, most enjoyable to watch!

Juliette Forbes takes the acting honours with her portrayal of a woman caught up in a situation spiraling out of control with madness.

Duchovny plays the pivotal role of a mild mannered, rather meek individual who is forced to confront his frailties or lose everything.

Kalifonia may not be a classic and may not win any high brow awards but this is a highly entertaining movie without a dull moment, quite exquisitely shot with some decent tracks for background score as well.
