Typically cheesy and tacky thriller from the master of showmanship, William Castle. Two bored teenagers start making random calls from the directory to amuse themselves. After a while of giggles they hit upon a man who has just offed his wife. What follows is a typical mixture of Camp and Castle shocks….but what stands out is a truly magnificent performance by Joan Crawford as the killer's sultry neighbour.

Joan manages to take her brand of superlative Camp to dizzying heights. It's a great performance, well worth watching the movie for on its own. Otherwise its not particularly thrilling, nor particularly frightening…..just good old fashioned family fun with the wonderful Castle touch and that memorable performance by Ms. Crawford.
