Coppola's second feature was a Roger Corman produced cheapie shot in a handful of days in Ireland. Yet there is an eeriness to proceedings and the psychotic music score by Ronald Stein lends a feeling of distinct unease.

Memorable axe murder scenes remind one of the infamous shower scene from Psycho. Intriguing little shocker with distinct shades and tone of Psycho - a fair compliment. Listen up for one of the most bizarre and effective soundtracks to an early 60's film full of dread and doom. Wonderful little axe-shocker oozing tons of atmosphere.

There is a brilliant performance by Luana Anders as a conniving, murderously evil bitch out for her husbands heritage. The title sequence too, is memorable. This is a cracker of a little horror film, make with loads of style. Enormously underrated.
