Tamara Dobson paints a handsome picture as the outlandish and ultra hip Special Agent Cleopatra Jones - a crimebusting Mama from the psychedelic, funky 60's. It's near vintage blaxploitation with loads of attitude but maybe the fact that it was a major studio release led to its having a rather sterilised feel to it. Works best as a campy entertainer and period piece - considerably amusing however, if not quite the real Bad Ass low down Blaxploitation.
The plot is fairly staple for the genre. Agent Jones is out to thwart King Pin of Crime, the dubious Madame played by Shelly Winters with the requisite amounts of ham. Funky, hip and a cool trip back to the days when things were so much more groovy and shagadelic, the fab and loony 60's.
