Absolutely no character development - just a succession of set pieces injected with ominous music and the typical subjective point of view camera. Tom Savini's gore work was harshly cut by the censors, and thus the only highlight of the film lies on the floor of the editing room, though the gore did make the Japanese version. Blink and you might miss Holly Hunter's unfortunate debut.
