To even be gracing Bad Girls Dormitory with a review is doing it an honuor it hardly deserves and it comes as no surprise at all to discover that the director Tom Kincaid is none other than Joe Gage - maker of many a grisly all-male porn fest of the pre-AIDS era. No surprise at all, because this turgid piece of excrement contains all the artistry one associates with the dregs from the porn world, and no doubt the third rate "actors" in this so called feature film are leftovers from the porn world as they are endowed with whatever it takes in that field of expertise while acting doesn't really come into the quotient at all. The plot of the film is the same as many a prison-drama with three young tarts being duped into various crimes in the big bad city and ending up in the lock-up for their troubles. One spotty and frumpy beauty is snagged as a prostitute working in a porn film (how appropriate) while another is caught with a bag of heroin her boyfriend dumps on her while a third is done for murder. All three girls end up in the notorious state penitentiary for juvenile criminals known as The Bad Girls Dormitory where the warden, Miss. Danson is a sadistic lesbian, the nurse a rapist and the rest of the staff an assortment of junkies, thugs and crazed sexual deviants. The audience is treated to the usual plethora of shower scenes, forced submissions, fake violence and horrendous acting. The 105 minute experience is an infernal one and one that seems to take an eternity to wind to its totally predictable conclusion. The film is devoid of any slightest shred of style or artistry and indeed it is quite a shock to find stuff of this level of "quality" even released on video at all. How anyone could pay to watch this crap is totally beyond me and how I managed to actually pay money to own this piece of crud is also a fair achievement in itself. The filmmakers have to be lauded for having the gall to release something as utterly inept and hideously atrocious for the unsuspecting public to buy. This is filmmaking of an impossibly wretched standard ..surely even the all-male porn was a better bet and something these film-makers ought to have stuck to rather than this attempt at mainstream garbage. We have quite possibly yet to come across a film more lacking in style, character, artistry or taste. Bad Girls Dormitory is cinema at its most insufferable.
