"Why don't you offer STARBUCKS coffee beans as part of your selection"
Because the way we see things.....STARBUCKS is to COFFEE what McDONALDS is to FOOD. Need we say more!?
"How come you dont serve SHEESHA as most other outlets do? "
Please.............give us SOME credit! If we need Sheesha to attract custom, we dont deserve to stay in business!
"Why don't we get served at our tables even your staff pass right by us with our order and place it at the counter for us to pick up"
Good point. This is because we would prefer to stick to a simple "Self Service" policy that we have adhered to ever since we started up and secondly because we would prefer to avoid charging customers an additional service charge (usually 15%) driving prices needlessly higher.
"Please
serve Coke or Pepsi"
If we serve Cola's - Coke and
Pepsi, Qibla, Zam Zam or Mecca etc - we would be going against The Hot
Spot's ethic of natural, non-artificial, home prepared, wholesome food.
Most people felt our removing fizzy drinks from the menu was politically
motivated but it wasn't. The decision is purely food based. In our book,
fizzy soda based drinks dont quite qualify in terms of quality and we
refuse to serve our customers garbage however profitable it might
be. Ask yourself, if you loved your teeth or your kids would you have them drink this carbonated muck? You would if you loved your dentist, that's for sure!
The following
are all taken from the Karachi branch:
"Music
is an integral part of any eateries ambiance the cost of which should
be included in the cost of the food if anything - Regards Rameez"
Firstly, we agree that music
is part of the whole experience and unless there is an electricity blackout,
there is an extensive collection of CD's that is CONSTANTLY playing
at all branches of The Hot Spot. There for we beg to differ when people
raise the point that we charge for listening to music. We DO NOT charge
for listening to music, however we do make a nominal charge of Rs. 15 or 10
if a customer chooses to listen to a specific song. We would also like
to add that we reckon that at a rate of Rs. 15 and 10 per selection, our jukeboxes
remain the cheapest that we have yet to come across anywhere in the
world. Also we would like to add that a proportion of the income from
the Jukebox is donated to Charity. Please click on the link "donated
to charity" to read more about The Hot Spot's charity donations.
"I think that you
should change "Butter Pecan" to Butter Walnuts because you
don't have Pecan!" - the unsatisfied customer.
We certainly accept this criticism
as it has indeed been a while since we have been able to get hold of
fresh Pecans. Maybe it is time to think of an appropriate name as the
pecans that are available in the local market are way past their sell
by date and we would rather use fresh walnuts rather than stale pecans.
However your point is perfectly valid and has been noted.
"Please
try installing a washroom at The Hot Spot - It would be much appreciated."
This is another often heard
complaint - We did in fact start off operations at our original venue
in Islamabad with a toilet however we soon found that it was a facility
that was being abused in the sense that it was being regularly used
by people who were not customers and who would specifically drop by
to use a clean toilet. Secondly, following the example of most ice cream
shops we have researched overseas, we found that having a toilet was
an exception rather than the norm. Thirdly there have been occasions
when, in the early days, we discovered items in the toilet that we were
of concern and we do not have the manpower to watch over the toilets
nor indeed to keep cleaning them after each customer who uses the toilet.
However, the point has been registered and in future we may work out
a method by which genuine, needy (read desperate) customers can use
a toilet if they absolutely must. This will probably involve asking
for a key at the counter or having the toilet unlocked for you. This
topic is being given due consideration.
"Please
start serving Creme Brulee again, this was probably the most popular
item you had on the menu"
We considered the creme brulee
among the finest items to grace our menu ever since we began operations
back in 1995 and wish it was the most popular item on the menu, however
it didn't really catch on, either due to its name or whatever reason
.......however we will certainly be bringing it back in the winter season
and hope that the response to what is arguably the prince of all desserts
will be a little more enthusiastic then previously.
"Slippery
staircase and no seating in the lobby area"
This problem has been rectified!
"Please
arrange sugar free ice cream"
It is something that is definitely
in the pipeline.
"Service
is too slow"
Point taken - we have bolstered
our staff accordingly and hopefully the service will speed up noticeably
thereafter.
"Should
have the option of Pina Colada on the menu"
As a policy we don't serve "mocktails"
or anything else that is pretending to be something that it isn't.
